History and Uses

The most dangerous side effect that has been linked to Xarelto is controllable bleeding. Whereas other blood thinners have an antidote to reverse the effects of the medication, Xarelto does not have an antidote and cannot be flushed out through dialysis. As a result, hundreds of people have died from uncontrollable bleeding in emergency rooms and elsewhere.

Other serious side effects associated with Xarelto include an increased risk of blood clots forming after surgery, spinal clots resulting in paralysis, abdominal bleeding, abnormal liver function, brain hemorrhage, and reduced platelet levels.
